Therapists Beyond Borders is seeking compassionate and qualified board members committed to our mission to empower worldwide communities that care for individuals with disabilities/disabled individuals through rehab-focused training programs.

Board Overview

The Board of Directors provide high-level oversight and governance to the organization. The main role of the board is to ensure that the organization’s operations and functions align with its mission, vision, and core values. 

Board Member Responsibilities:

  • Understand and support our mission and growth.
  • Be knowledgeable of our current programs and strategic direction.
  • Provide board governance and guidance for best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities of the organization.
  • Participate in strategic planning.
  • Review and approve budget and financial statements. 
  • Review and advise on contractual agreements. 
  • Consider policy matters. 
  • Lead and participate in fundraising activities.
  • Conflict resolution.
  • Act as champions in the community – participate in networking activities, leverage connections, etc. 
  • Be willing to accommodate to USA time zones for quarterly meetings.

Board Member Qualifications (Required):

  • Attend virtual board meetings quarterly.
  • “Give” OR “Get” requirement of a minimum $2,500 annual contribution (i.e. fundraising activities, sponsorships, partnerships, or personal).
  • Demonstrate high-levels of fiduciary responsibility.

Board Member Qualifications (Preferred):

  • We are looking for a diverse range of candidates and skills, especially BIPOC or disabled individuals/individuals with disabilities, or must be a committed advocate and ally of the BIPOC/disability community. 
  • The board would ideally include a mix of backgrounds and skills, including public/global health, international relations & challenges, health & medicine, legal, accounting, business development, strategic planning, and fundraising. Board members must be true champions for our cause.
