Meet Alexa, a committed physical therapist specializing in pediatrics in Washington D.C.. She obtained her master's in physical therapy from The George Washington University in 2003 and continued her education by earning a doctorate in 2022 through The College of St. Scholastica. Alexa's extensive experience spans various settings, including pediatric acute care, home health, early intervention, outpatient private practice, Washington D.C. charter schools, and even as adjunct faculty for George Washington University.
In 2007, Alexa co-founded a pro bono physical therapy clinic in northeast Washington, D.C., providing essential services to the uninsured and underinsured population in the greater Washington D.C. area. Alexa was drawn to volunteer for TBB in 2019 given her commitment to equitable healthcare practices. She contributed to the pilot training program for Kenya. Alexa now serves as the Director of Programs for TBB. She collaborates with colleagues globally to establish sustainable programs that empower the disability community and their supporters.
When she's not making a difference in the world, Alexa enjoys the company of her husband, two children, and their canine companion, splitting her time between Washington D.C. and Maine.
