Ashika Shah

OTD, OTR/L, BS

Ashika is an occupational therapist specializing in skilled nursing home settings. Ashika received her doctorate in occupational therapy from Johnson & Wales University and a Bachelors in Science from Simmons University. Ashika first started her journey as a Occupational therapist in early intervention, where she was able to incorporate community resources as well as essential healthcare interventions to families in different social economic classes. Her involvement with Friendshipworks, a nonprofit that decreases elder isolation around the Boston area, inspired Ashika to pursue a career in a skilled nursing home setting .on Cape Cod

Ashika brings a wealth of experience to TBB. Her role as the Passport to Potential Manager is pivotal in supporting TBB's mission. Ashika’s journey with TBB started when she reached out to TBB’s founder, Lauren Stanley, to discuss TBB with her occupational therapy class at Johnson & Wales University. She recognized the importance of TBB and after graduating, wanted to be more involved with this wonderful organization. Ashika was intrigued by how different each country portrayed disability and their healthcare system and wanted to learn more. Currently, Ashika serves as the Passport to Potential Manager, interviewing therapists from around the world.

Ashika continues to spend her free time on Cape Cod, walking with her dog and fiance on the beach, trying new restaurants on the Cape, and traveling to visit her relatives in different countries.
